Pedestrian struck in vehicle crash near Grant Rd, Alvernon Way

TUCSON – A person sustained life-threatening injuries in a vehicular crash near Grant Road and Alvernon Way Tuesday afternoon.

According to Tucson Police Department, a pedestrian was allegedly was struck by a vehicle after he unlawfully crossed a Grant Road. Police say westbound Grant Road has been shut down between Alvernon and Columbus Boulevard.

Police say the driver involved stayed at the scene. Impairment does not appear to be a factor in the incident at this time.

The area is expected to be closed for the next several hours. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
