$147,000 donated to groups dedicated to veterans and military personnel

TUCSON- Veterans and active military personnel across Southern Arizona are benefiting from this year’s Empower Coalition Donation.

The coalition gave away about $147,000 on Tuesday, March 12th that was raised during the “Tucson Beefsteak” event. That money was given to 19 different organizations.

“Veterans sacrifice everything,” said John O’Shea, Vice President of The Power Coalition. “For us, this is a group where we sacrifice a couple of nights a month to do what we do and we look at that as a nod of respect to what these folks sign up for.”

The largest donation of about $75,000 went to The Honor Flight which takes veterans to Washington, D.C. so they can visit memorials dedicated to them.
