TUCSON – A man has been arrested in connection to Tuesday’s homicide on the southwest side of Tucson.

Tuesday evening, 61-year-old Lorraina Martinez Salas was found with obvious signs of trauma at Woods Apartments in Midvale Park. Despite first-responders administering first-aid and CPR immediately, she was pronounced deceased at the scene.

According to the Tucson Police Department, Robert Ocano, 22, has been identified as the man taken into custody in connection to the incident.  He is being charged with first-degree murder.

After several interviews, detectives learned that Martinez had previously helped Ocano by providing him with food.

Police say that while Martinez’s husband was trying to help her, the suspect left the apartment. He was later located and detained in the area.
