A park on the west side has a new playground, years after it was destroyed by vandals.
The Tucson Parks and Recreation Department and Councilwoman Regina Romero celebrated the reopening of the playground at Bonita Park, on Tuesday.
City officials said vandals destroyed the playground back in 2016. The area was closed as crews removed all of the damaged equipment.
Four years later, a new playground stands in its place for local children to enjoy.
