Toy gun prompts brief lockdown at TUSD middle school

TUCSON – A Tucson Unified School District middle school was put on a brief lockdown Monday morning after a student allegedly brought a toy gun onto campus.

Tucson Police Department responded to Magee Middle School, located at 300 E. Speedway Blvd. near Pantano Road, after they received a gun call at the school at around 11 a.m. Monday. Police soon determined that the gun report referred to a student who had a toy gun on his person.

Police say the school went on a brief lockdown in reference to the report.

No injuries have been reported in connection to the incident. No arrests have been made at this time.
