Man arrested in connection to fatal shooting in central Tucson

TUCSON – A 34-year-old man was taken into custody in connection to last week’s shooting in central Tucson that left one dead.

According to Tucson Police Department, police found a man, later identified as 34-year-old Ruben Lemon, with obvious signs of gunshot trauma near a roadway at Dodge Boulevard and Fairmount Street in reference to multiple reports of shots fired in the area.

On Monday, TPD announced that an arrest has been made in connection to the homicide.

James Harlen Jones was booked into Pima County Jail for charges including first-degree murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault with a vehicle.

After further investigation, police also stated that they believe the incident does not appear to be gang-motivated.
