Family plea for bone marrow donor to help save mother’s life

TUCSON- A mother is fighting for her life after she was diagnosed with leukemia in March of last year.

Lupita Felix said she received a call from her doctor the other day predicting she may have about four months to live.

“I have been trying to get a donor so I can survive and finally find a donor because it is difficult we need a lot of people to donate,” said Felix.

This mother of five is now in desperate need for people to become a donor to not only save her life but others.

“Right now we need a lot of Hispanic people to donate bone marrow, there is a lot of us that don’t understand we as Hispanic have to donate,” she said. “Please donate. Please not only for me but there is a lot of us in the United States that need that help that are not able to get a transplant because not a lot of people donate.”

“It is such an easy thing to do and you are changing someone’s life just by donating… just by registering and being on that list because you never know who is going to need you,” said Priscilla Felix, Lupita’s daughter.
