4 the Weekend: last weekend for a nocturnal art exhibit

(TUCSON, Ariz.) – Here are some events happening this weekend!



Tucson Botanical Gardens

5:30-8:30 p.m.

Thursday to Sunday

Tucson Botanical Gardens

The Tucson Botanical Gardens in collaboration with sculptor Mykl Wells brings you Luminous, an outdoor nocturnal art experience. Luminous is a series of illuminated sculptures based on the flora and fauna of the Sonoran Desert. Luminous hours run Thursday through Sunday 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.This is the last weekend the exhibit will be open.


Lukie D

Rialto Theatre 

7 p.m. doors open


Lukie D will preform Saturday at the Rialto Theatre. Lukie D. is a reggae artist well known for his interpretation of Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud”. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets starts at $22. VIP tickets are available.


UA vs Utah

McKale Center

12 p.m.


The wildcats take on Utah Saturday at noon at McKale Center.


Penny Packrat Story Time

Desert Museum

9 a.m.

Friday & Saturday

The Desert Museum is hosting Penny Packrat Storytime on Friday and Saturday. According to the Desert Museum’s website:

“Packrats are the desert’s collectors. Discover these curious creatures and some of their favorite collectibles as we read a story about Penny the Packrat. We’ll help her collect items, and share what we like to collect! Meet an animal and go home with a fun prize. This activity is followed by exclusive playtime in Packrat Playhouse before we open to the public.”

The events run both days from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. For museum members , it costs $10 per child. Non-members will pay $12.

Friday’s event is for kids ages 2 to 5. The event Saturday is geared for kids ages 6 to 12.
