State awards DUI and traffic enforcement grant to Cochise County

TUCSON – The state has awarded $33,000 in grants to the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office for traffic safety programs.

The money from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety will primarily be spent on DUI enforcement. It will also pay for 5 portable breath testing units.

Out of the funds, $10,000 will be spent on overtime for enforcing speeding, aggressive driving, red light running and other dangerous offenses.
