Annual Illuminate South Tucson event to happen Friday
TUCSON – YWCA Southern Arizona will host the 4th Annual Illuminate South Tucson event on Friday, Dec.7th.
The event is free. Its runs from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the YWCA’s South Tucson Campus, 243 W. 33rd Street.
It includes:
- Lighting of a Christmas tree
- The Walden Grove PAC Dance Team (As seen on America’s Got Talent)
- Mariachi Groups
- Missionview Folklorico
- Handmade piñata
- Raffle to benefit the Healthy South Tucson Shoe and Jacket Drive
- Free family photos with a special guest from the North Pole
- Games
Complimentary refreshments and light snacks will be provided.
“This year, create beautiful holiday memories with your family with a special guest from the North Pole.”, says Mirra Mattheson, Community and Property Manager of YWCA’s House of Neighborly Service who is helping coordinate.
“This is a night to kick-off the holiday season with our neighbors in South Tucson, but also to support local families with a raffle dedicated to the Healthy South Tucson Shoe and Jacket Drive.” says Matheson.
This is YWCA’s fourth year participating in the drive with a goal to provide 100 kids with a new pair of shoes and warm jacket.
