Federal complaint filed against suspect in Deputy U.S. Marshal killing

TUCSON — A federal complaint against the man suspected of shooting and killing Deputy U.S. Marshal Chase White was filed Friday morning in a U.S. District Court.

It outlines what unfolded at suspect Ryan Schlesinger’s west home Thursday night

The complaint states deputies with the U.S. Marshal task force showed up at Schlesinger ‘s house around 5:30 p.m. to serve the suspect with a felony warrant for stalking a Tucson police officer.

Agents forced entry and Schlesinger allegedly shot and killed White.

Agents returned fire but the suspect was not injured.

According to the complaint, just before 6:30 p.m. Schlesinger came out of his house wearing body armor and a ballistic helmet.

He was then taken into custody.
