Arizona man arrested for Snapchat with AR-15 mag saying ‘don’t go to school’

EAGER, Ariz. – An 18-year-old man who recently graduated from Round Valley High School was arrested on several charges including acts of terrorism after posting a concerning Snapchat photo, Eager PD said.

According to Eager PD, a teenage girl alerted the police about a photo she saw on Snapchat that showed a loaded AR-15 magazine with the words ‘don’t go to school’ labeled on it.

Police identified the man who posted the photo as Thomas Bivins, 18, a May 2018 graduate of Round Valley High, which has around 500 students.

With assistance from the school district, Apache County Sheriff’s Office and the Springerville Police Department, Eager PD said Bivins was located and arrested.

A search warrant was served at his home. No weapons were found at the location. Police say it is not believed anyone else is involved.

Bivins was booked into the Apache County Jail for multiple charges including acts of terrorism, disruption of an educational facility, threatening and intimidating and more.

Eager PD says it does not believe there is any threat to the schools at this time.
