Tracking Tucson senior citizens getting flu shots

TUCSON – The Centers for Disease Control reported that last flu season was one of the deadliest on record in the U.S.

With that report, Clover Health decided to survey Tucson senior citizens about their plans to get the flu shot this year.

The results found nearly 70% of senior citizens plan to get the flu shot. Nationally, 63% said they would.

They also found 30% of senior citizens did not get the flu shot last season.

“Which is very unfortunate because everyone should be getting the flu shot,” said TaylorHolleschau,  with Arizona Growth Specialist, Clover Health. “It is very, you know, serious and can be a deadly disease and Tucson seniors are actually the most vulnerable population because of their age.”

Clover Health said they plan to track the percentage of Tucson seniors who get flu shots throughout the season.
