Homeowners upset about Oro Valley annexation

ORO VALLEY — Some Oro Valley homeowners are upset about a plan that could bring new homes to town.

It center around almost 900 acres of land that is owned by the state. One Oro Valley councilman say it’s prime real estate to build homes.

Community members attended the Oro Valley city council meeting to voice their concerns, Wednesday night.

“I’ve lived in this neighborhood for almost 15 years. I’ve raised my sons here. This is something that came up out of sort nowhere in the last year. We keep being told this has been planned for 30 years, but it sure seems like it’s going downhill awfully fast,” said

The city will be holding another public meeting Thursday, to further discuss the issue.
