Crime Trackers: PCSD looking for suspect who racked up nearly $1K in stolen card purchases

TUCSON – Pima County Sheriff’s Department is looking for a suspect who they say stole a purse and used the credit cards to rack up nearly $1,000 worth of goods.

It happened at the Safeway on Swan Road and Sunrise Drive on Jan. 25.

Detectives said the victim was placing her groceries in her car and left her purse in the grocery cart.

They said a man described as a Hispanic male in his 20’s wearing black pants and a long sleeve shirt grabbed the purse and ran across the parking lot into a waiting car.

He then went to  Walmart at Tucson Market Place where detectives said he used another credit card and purchased electronics.

PCSD said within an hour’s time he used the credit card to buy nearly $1,000 worth of items.

PCSD advised residents to not leave purses unattended, and be aware of surroundings when unloading groceries into your vehicle.
