Homeowner interrupts burglary

TUCSON – Pima County Sheriff’s detectives need your help to identify two teenagers they say are responsible for several burglaries in the area of La Cholla Boulevard and River Road.

Detective Robert Fiore said the incidents happened on Jan. 8.  They have surveillance video from two different cameras.

He said the homeowner interrupted the burglary.

The victim told detectives when he walked into the house he saw one suspect at the sliding glass door, who picked up something and took off.  He also said he heard movement upstairs.

According to the video, as the homeowner chased the one thief out the back, the other one left through the front door.

Detectives said the suspects are both African American males about 17 years old.  They were seen leaving in a light colored SUV.

They took with them some electronic equipment worth $100.

Detective Fiore warned against chasing after suspects.  He said the victim, in this case, was lucky because there is no telling what would have happened had the burglars been armed.

He also recommended that people get some sort of surveillance cameras because it’s extremely helpful to law enforcement.

If anyone has information call 911 or 88-CRIME.
