Crime Trackers: PCSD seek armed robbery suspect

TUCSON – Pima County Sheriff’s Department is on the lookout for a man after a shoplifting incident quickly escalated to an armed robbery.

According to PCSD, a man attempted to walk out of a Midvale Park Walmart with a cart full of items at around noon Dec. 18. When he was stopped by loss prevening, a verbal altercation ensued.

In surveillance video obtained by News 4 Tucson, the suspect was seen pulling a knife out at brandishing it at the Walmart staff. Shortly after pulling out the weapon, authorities said he ran into a silver or tan SUV.

The vehicle then fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Detectives said while identifying features cannot be seen over the surveillance video, the suspect was said to have a tattoo on his neck.
