TUCSON (KVOA) – Arizona’s freshman forward from Lithuania, Azuolas Tubelis, scored a career-high 31 points while grabbing eight rebounds.  However, Tubelis’ performance wasn’t enough as USC pulled away from the Wildcats in the second half to knock off Arizona 87-73.

USC standout Isaiah White scored 22 points while the Trojan’s all-everything freshman Evan Mobley had another double-double in Arizona’s home loss. The win for USC broke Arizona’s ten-game losing streak at McKale Center against the Wildcats.

The Wildcats defense had few answers for USC, who shot nearly 60 percent on the game. Arizona shot just 40.3 percent from the field.

The game was closer than the final score indicates with both teams trading leads 11 times in the first seven minutes of the second half. However, USC pulled away down the stretch.

Arizona Freshman Azuolas Tubelis’ previous high was 13 points against Eastern Washington.

The Wildcats hope to rebound on Saturday against UCLA, who travels to McKale Center.
