TPD identifies man killed in drive-by on southside

TUCSON (KVOA) - Tucson Police Department has identified 65-year-old Randy Harris as the victim of a fatal drive-by shooting that occurred Sunday morning near Campbell Avenue and 36th Street.

According to TPD officials, just after midnight on Sept. 20, officers responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 2300 block of East Monterey Vista.

When officers arrived at the scene they located Harris on the front porch of the residents with gunshot wounds. TPD and TFD attempted to render aid to Harris but he was pronounced deceased on the scene, officials said.

Upon investigation, homicide detectives determined Harris did not live at the residents but had just arrived after attending an event with friends. Harris was on the front porch when an unknown vehicle approached the house then began shooting and struck him.

The residence and a vehicle were also struck, but no other individuals were injured.

There are currently no suspects in custody. TPD is asking anyone with information to call 88-CRIME, you can remain anonymous.
