Corrections officers alerted to unresponsive inmate at Pima County Adult Detention Complex

PIMA COUNTY - Corrections officers at the Pima County Adult Detention Complex were alerted to an unresponsive inmate in a cell on Monday morning.

At approximately 7 a.m., officers entered the cell of the inmate, who has been identified as 50-year-old Todd Ash, and immediately began administering emergency life saving measure while they waited for Tucson Fire Department personnel to arrive.

TFD was able to resuscitate Ash and transport him to a nearby hospital.

Ash stabilized upon arrival to the hospital.

While at the hospital, Ash's condition deteriorated and he died Tuesday evening.

The Criminal Investigations Division has taken over the investigation.
