TUCSON - 200 DynCorp International employees are being laid off in Tucson.

DynCorp is the contractor that maintains the A-10 fighters at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.

The company says the United States Air Force plans to have active-duty maintenance personnel continue the work of the 357th aircraft maintenance unit.

DynCorp says it has been an honor to support this effort.

John Gastright, Senior Vice President for Communications for DynCorp International, said the following statement:

“Recently, the United States Air Force notified DynCorp International that our work in support of the 357th Aircraft Maintenance Unit would be returned to active duty maintenance personnel.  It has been an honor to support this effort, and as the largest provider of aviation maintenance services to the United States Army, United States Air Force and United States Coast Guard we look forward to working with our maintenance experts to provide potential opportunities elsewhere.”
