TUCSON - The philanthropy of the Tucson Conquistadores was on full display Saturday over at Booth-Fickett Middle School in Tucson.

The organization has been a tremendous supporter of the Pima County Junior Soccer League for the last 30 years and they showed why once again by making an $11,000 donation to the youth club.

That donation will go toward scholarships that will allow for some 350-plus kids to play soccer here in Tucson. Kids who normally wouldn't have the opportunity to partake in the "beautiful game".

The Conquistadores generosity over the years has provided the chance for some 10,000 kids here in Southern Arizona to get on the pitch and play the game of soccer.

The scholarship program is a partnership between the Conquistadores, the clubs and the league. Scholarships are awarded by the clubs. Using the generous donation from the Conquistadores and proceeds from our annual Pima Cup tournament.

The Conquistadores run the annual PGA Champions Tour Cologuard Classic every February here in Tucson. Money generated from the tournament is redistributed by the group to various charities and youth organizations throughout Southern Arizona.
