PCSD: Suspect in officer-involved shooting near Ajo Highway pronounced dead on-scene

TUCSON - Pima County Sheriff's Department Deputy James T. Allerton reported that the suspect in the officer-involved shooting on Tuesday was pronounced dead on-scene at 6225 W. Ajo Way.

The identity of the adult male suspect is not yet available to release.

Further information will be provided as it becomes available.

An active investigation restricted an area on the southwest side of Tucson Tuesday morning.

According to Tucson Police Department, a suspect kidnapped a man Monday night.

After a police standoff, officials said an officer-involved shooting occurred Tuesday morning.

The incident has closed Ajo Highway in both directions from Camino Verde to East of Tucson Estates.

Officials say TPD and PCSD SWAT teams were involved in the shooting.
