Local fulfillment center suggests getting holiday packages out as soon as possible

TUCSON - A local fulfillment business said Cyber Monday was a success, however, they have been slammed for the past week.

Custom BackOffice Solutions said the business shipped over 15,000 packages over the holiday weekend.

With a shorter timeline between Thanksgiving and Christmas, the company suggests getting your packages out as soon as possible.

For standard shipping, the last day you can ship is Dec.  13 for UPS, Dec. 14 for the Postal Service, and Dec. 16 for FedEx.

Deputy Allerton with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said porch pirates take advantage of the holiday season.

“Get to know your neighbors; get to know who belongs in the neighborhood and who doesn’t,” said Allerton. “And then if you do have a package, maybe a neighbors going to be home and you can let them know and perhaps they can pick it up for you and you can get it later.”

If you need to ship your item to your home, Tiffany Pierson of Custom BackOffice Solutions suggested requiring a signature.

Other ways to mitigate having your packages stolen include shipping to your work, insuring your package if it’s expensive, or investing in doorbell cameras for security.

If you think your package has been stolen, call 911 and report it.
