Annual Tamal and Heritage festival to take place this weekend


TUCSON - The fifteenth annual Tamal and Heritage Festival will take place at the Casino del Sol's AVA Amphitheater on Saturday.

This unique festival will feature tons of tamales, as well as other food vendors, a tamale contest, live entertainment, artisan vendors and more!

The public is invited to celebrate the rich tastes, smells and variations of tamales from the southwest region and Mexico.

This free, open to the public event will take place on Saturday morning, starting a 10 a.m, and will go until 5 p.m.

This event will also host a tamale contest where cash prizes range from $150 to $750. The contest begins at noon.

The Annual Tamale and Heritage Festival provides participants with an opportunity to raise funds for their organizations, households and communities as vendors.
