Suspect convicted of aggravated assault sentenced to 25 years in prison

TUCSON – A Tucson man was sentenced to 25 years in prison on Thursday.

Paul Irvin was convicted by a jury in August of aggravated assault on a peace officer after he shot at police officers during a routine traffic stop.

Irvin proceeded to take off and lead police on a day-long chase before he was finally detained.

Irvin was already wanted on a drug related charge at the time.
