TUCSON – Workers on strike from the company ASARCO continued to protest on Thursday.
This was the fourth day of the strike.
Workers said that they want more money, better health care and a better pension plan.
According to the union, negotiations have stalled. However, the union will not discuss specifics on average worker pay and how much more they’re asking for.
The union did mention that workers haven’t had a pay raise in more than 10 years.
News 4 attempted to reach ASARCO, owned by Grupo Mexico, to determine their position on the strike.
There has yet to be a response from them.
There is also no word on when ASARCO and union leaders will resume contract talks.
