Rio Rico grad & UA alum win gold at Pan Am Games

LIMA, PERU – Two track and field athletes with University of Arizona ties joined diver Delaney Schnell by medaling at the 2019 Pan American Games.  Rio Rico High school grad Carlos Villareal (who’ll be a senior at the U of A) grabbed a gold medal in the 1500 meter, while Sage Watson won a gold medal in the 400 meter hurdles. Paul Cicala is a 2-time winner of the prestigious”Edward R. Murrow Award” for his reporting/anchoring in news & sports. Paul Cicala has also been nominated for multiple EMMY’s. Cicala has won the “Best Sportscaster” category in Tucson the last 3 years (voted on by readers of “Tucson Weekly”).
