Palo Verde Park just got a makeover.
Arizona muralist Isaac Caruso worked with four Tucson students to create a mural focused on the history and culture of the Palo Verde neighborhood.
The four students working with Caruso were chosen after submitting art portfolios and are now being paid for their work by the Arts Foundation for Tucson and Southern Arizona.
“First off, getting paid is super cool, but the design process was really really awesome,” said one of the four student’s Jenna Linneman.
Caruso worked with the students to create an original design and oversee the entire creation process.
“We met with the community here and we got an idea of when this area was built, who was here when it was built, and kind of merged that into present day,” Caruso said.
The mural was officially unveiled on July 25th.
