TUCSON – Federal authorities have seized nearly 50 pounds of methamphetamine, and arrested a man who was crossing into Arizona through the Port of Lukeville.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers say they searched a Nissan sedan belonging to the 26-year-old Caborca, Sonora resident on Monday.

Investigators say a CBP K-9 alerted officers to more than 40 packages of meth hidden inside the vehicle’s doors.

CBP says the drugs are valued at $139,000.
