NOGALES – The owner of an assisted living facility has been indicted by an Arizona grand jury on charges of vulnerable adult abuse.
Raul Lopez, the owner of La Paloma Home for the Aging, is now facing four counts of vulnerable adult abuse.
Investigators say in February, 2018, a 90-year-old resident had to be taken to a local hospital for an injury that was suffered in a fall.
Authorities say staff at the hospital staff noticed a number of pressure ulcers on the victim’s body.
Doctors say those ulcers should have been observed by the resident’s caregivers.
