PCSD: Multiple weapons, explosives found in home where teen was fatally shot

TUCSON- During the investigation into a shooting that left a 17-year-old male dead on the Northwest side. Investigators discovered various weapons and homemade pipe bombs inside a home.

On Friday, June 7, Pima County Sheriff’s Department reported to a shooting near Camino De Oeste and Cortaro Farms Road.

According to PCSD, a 19-year-old male accidentally discharged an AK-47 striking and killing a 17-year-old male.

During the investigation, detectives discovered suspected explosive devices in the residence. Pima Regional Bomb Squad and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives were called in to safely remove the items.

While in the home, detectives discovered a rocket-propelled grenade launcher, AK-47, several homemade pipebombs and various other weapons. PCSD safely removed and disposed of the item.

The investigation regarding the explosives and weapons was turned over to federal authorities.
