TUCSON – It’s time to grab your towel and sunscreen because Puma County will soon open its nine public swimming pools.
Pima County says all pools will open for Memorial Day weekend on May 25.
Four pools (Wade McLean, the Northwest YMCA, Manzanita and Ajo) will be open through Labor Day, Sept. 2.
Swimming lessons for children will also be offered – a Novice Summer Swim Team Program for children ages 5 to 18, and a Junior Lifeguard Program for children ages 11 to 15.

Swimming lessons are provided in two-week sessions of eight classes, with the first session beginning Monday, June 3. Lessons are $20 per session and registration is now online at www.pima.gov/pools. Online registration for swim lessons opened May 14.
Novice Summer Swim Team is offered at all Pima County pools except for the Picture Rocks pool. The fee is $20 for the whole summer, including all practices and meets. Registration for the Novice Summer Swim Team is open and available online at www.pima.gov/swimteam. Registration continues until June 7, or until the team at a specific pool reaches capacity
