Veterans, seniors offered free flight in Boeing Stearman

TUCSON- Several seniors and veterans got a chance to fly the skies today at Ryan Airfield in Tucson, taking flight in a Boeing Stearman biplane.

The flight is Offered by Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation a non-profit dedicated to seniors and military veterans. The aircraft model is the same one used to train pilots in World War II.

“We know they have done so much for us and when we think them for their service,” pilot Mike Sommars said.

“It made me feel real good because it’s something different,” Vincent Pino Veteran said, “Otherwise, I’d be home probably laying in bed sleeping and thinking of what I’m going to do today,”
