Admitted gang member arrested for illegally entering the US

SAN LUIS, Ariz. – Customs and Border Protection agents arrested a man who admitted to being a member of the Border Brothers gang.

CBP says the man was arrested Monday night after allegedly entering the United States illegally.

Agents say they spotted the man walking north from the border about 10 miles east of the Port of San Luis.

Authorities believe he dug under an older section of the border fence in the same area used by the group of 376 Central Americans the week before.

A record check revealed the man was convicted of voluntary manslaughter in 1984 in Fresno, Calif. He was sentenced to 11 years in prison and also admitted he was a Border Brothers street gang member.
