Local restaurants offering free meals to federal workers

TUCSON – Some local restaurants are serving up free meals to federal workers who are going without pay during the partial government shutdown.

Workers can head over to Saffron Indian Bistro at 7607 N. Oracle Rd. between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday to get a free lunch.

All you have to do is show the server a federal ID.

Federal employees impacted by the shutdown can also head to Za’atar Mediterranean Restaurant at 2310 N Country Club Rd. The restaurant is also offering special deals during the partial government shutdown. For more information, please contact the restaurant at (520) 323-4074.
