Local restaurant offering free meals to federal workers

TUCSON – A local restaurant is serving up free meals to federal workers who are going without pay during the partial government shutdown.

Workers can head over to Saffron Indian Bistro at 7607 N. Oracle Rd. between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday to get a free lunch.

All you have to do is show the server a federal ID.

The owner of the restaurant, Saurabh Sareen, says many of his customers are federal workers, and he wants to give back.
