Anchored In Tradition: “Donuts For Dummies” with Paul Cicala

TUCSON – In Thursday’s “Anchored In Tradition” cooking segment, News 4 Tucson’s Paul Cicala made what he calls “Donuts For Dummies”.  By using store-bought dough (for rolls usually inserted into the oven), Cicala dipped it in oil and BOOM – “home made donuts” (just add some sugar or other flavoring).  Here’s more as-seen-on KVOA newscast.

1. Pillsbury crescent dough (or any muffin dough)
2. Vegetable Oil
3. Sugar
4. Brown Sugar
5. Cinammon
6. Chocolate
7. Peanut Butter
8. Any other spread

– Take dough out, and roll into whatever shapes you desire (traditionally, “donut” shapes”)
– Dip In heated vegetable oil
– Turn in oil until golden brown
– Take out, and let it dry a bit
– Add sugar, cinnamon, honey, peanut butter, chocolate, or whatever you desire to add taste
