The University of Arizona Swimming and Diving team has a new member.
Colton Hoffman, 12, was officially welcomed to the team during a special draft day ceremony, on Friday.
It was made possible by the nonprofit organization called Team IMPACT. The group’s goal is to pair children battling serious and chronic illnesses with college athletic teams.
Hoffman and his family now have the support of the co-ed team as he battles a genetic disorder.
“Colton is just completely thrilled to be part of this new family and this opportunity,” said Greg Hoffman, Colton’s father. “Thank you again from all of us.”
Hoffman will now be able to attend the team’s practices, games, dinners and other events.
