TUCSON – For many people, teeing off on the golf course is one of the best ways to spend a nice, warm Sunday.
But last weekend, one group used this sport to raise the "par" and help the greater community.
On Sunday, dozens of people gathered on the green for the Nexus Foundation Golf Tournament. After a large turnout, the tournament organizers announced that this year’s event raised $20,000 for United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona.
According to United Way representatives, the organization will help use this donation to support the overall community, impacting nearly 125,000 southern Arizonans every year.
