Man arrested for bestiality in southeast Tucson

TUCSON – A man has been arrested after law enforcement allegedly observed him committing acts of bestiality Aug. 13 at a property on Old Spanish Trail.

According to court documents, surveillance units with Tucson Police Department and Pima County Sheriff’s Department observed Jacob Alan Blatchford allegedly climbing over a fence of a property near 13401 E. Old Spanish Trail. The area contained several horses. The court documents said the 37-year-old reportedly caught one of the horses with a lead rope, approached the rear of the horse and allegedly committed sexual acts with the equine.

The court documents state that the act was caught on surveillance video by a PCSD air unit.

The documents say buccal swabs from the suspect are needed to compare with DNA found on evidence found at the scene.

Blatchford was arrested Aug. 14 and was transported to Pima County Jail on charges of bestiality and third-degree burglary. He will be held without bond.

He and his wife Cindy have two grown children and make their home in Rochester.
