Meteorologist Shea Sorenson is very familiar with Tucson. She graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in journalism and then earned her meteorology degree from Mississippi State University.

"I'm not the only Wildcat in my family! Both of my sisters graduated from U of A and my dad, grandfather and great-grandfather all went to law school here!"

After graduating, Shea spent the summer as an intern at News 4 Tucson. She then spent a little over two years in South Bend, Ind. forecasting thunderstorms, ice storms and lake effect snow. Before returning to Tucson, Shea was in Knoxville, Tenn.

"The monsoon storms are what made me fall in love with weather so I'm very excited to be back home in Arizona! I missed being close to family and I'm very thankful for this opportunity to serve Southern Arizona."

Shea is a proud dog mom to William, a black lab mix who is getting used to the heat. She is excited to take him on a few of the beautiful trails here in Tucson. Shea also loves spending time with her fiance, Ben.

"Ben is a Wildcat too! We actually met while attending U of A and have so many great memories here. We're excited to call Tucson home again!"

You can watch Shea from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. and at noon, Monday through Friday.
