Chief Meteorologist Matt Brode is back at News 4 Tucson after a 3-year stint at the CBS affiliate in Portland, OR.
“My body may have left Tucson when I moved to Portland, but my heart remained at KVOA”
You may recall seeing him forecasting the weather from 2006-2010 on “Tucson Today”
Matt jumped at the opportunity to return back to Tucson and to lead the True View 4 Weather team.
“This is truly my dream job. Having worked at KVOA for 4 years, being a two-time graduate of the University of Arizona, I know the people and the pulse of the city. My family has a rich history in Tucson. Go find a 1945 Tucson High yearbook and you’ll see my uncle Seymour’s picture. My father and Aunt also spent a few summers in Tucson. My sister and a number of other cousins’ are also proud UA graduates. Tucson is very much home to me”
Matt holds the AMS Seal of Approval – from the American Meteorological Society – and has worked in Duluth, MN, West Palm Beach, FL, in addition to his stints in Tucson and Portland.
He is an avid reader, a decent guitarist and despite his degrees from UA, a huge Michigan Fan.
“Having grown up in Ann Arbor, MI, dad and I would go to all of the Michigan games together”
Matt also is a self-described deadhead having attended many Grateful Dead concerts while they were still touring.
He would love to answer any weather related questions and is passionate about sharing his knowledge of the weather.
