Hittin’ the Trails: Brown Mountain Trail

TUCSON – It’s the most wonderful time of the year for a desert hike. “Hittin’ the Trails” features a dandy in the Tucson Mountains, dubbed the Brown Mountain Trail.

The Brown Mountain Trail starts at the Juan Santa Cruz picnic area. Expect a well-maintained trail, featuring several switchbacks. Surprisingly, none of the switchbacks are overly-strenuous.

As is the case with any trail in the Tucson Mountains, hikers will encounter a mix of cacti along with other desert flora. Plan for a 4 mile round trip trek, slightly less than moderate in difficulty.
