TUCSON – Looking to burn off Thanksgiving turkey, stuffing and five slices of pumpkin pie? Go “Hittin’ the Trails” in the Catalinas.
The trek along the Ventana Canyon Trail has several wash crossings. A mile in, hikers reach a barbed wire fence. This marks the gateway to Maiden Pools, the most popular destination on this hike.
It’s at this mile marker that the trail gets a little more difficult. Invest a half day for this out and back adventure, roughly five miles round trip from trailhead to Maiden Pools.
