TUCSON (KVOA)- Due to winter weather causing vaccine shipment delays, vaccine mobile clinics targeting high-risk communities in Pima County this weekend had to be cancelled.

During a COVID-19 update Friday afternoon, Pima County Health Department Director Dr. Theresa Cullen said that with the vaccine shipment they are expected to receive next week of 17,100 doses, they are planning to reschedule these mobile clinics for next weekend and add additional mobile clinics.

"We just had discussions in fact today to figure out if we can do up to four clinics on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of next week," said Dr. Cullen. "We are prioritizing this vulnerable population."

Dr. Cullen said that she believes they can allocate around 1,200 total doses of vaccine for these mobile clinics next weekend, with each mobile clinic able to vaccinate 300-500 people.

News 4 Tucson will have more information on the times and locations of these mobile clinics next week when its announced.
