TUCSON (KVOA)- Many viewers have asked News 4 Tucson if they have to be an Arizona resident to get a COVID-19 vaccine in Arizona and if they are allowed to get a vaccine in a county they do not reside in.

The Pima County Health Department stated that you do not have to be a resident of Arizona to get the vaccine in Arizona. Also, a person can get the first dose of the vaccine in one state and get the second dose in Arizona, or vice versa.

The health department urges people to keep track of their vaccine card they receive at the time they get their first dose so they know which brand of vaccine they received.

People can also cross county lines to get the vaccine, however, be sure to check ahead of time because some sites have specific requirements.

News 4 Tucson found some sites in Cochise County will only vaccinate Cochise County residents and people that work in Cochise County.
