Desert View alum will coach his brother (a Tucson High grad) at New Mexico St.

Former Desert View High School football standout Brandon Perkins has landed a dream position on the staff of New Mexico State.  As a graduate assistant, he’ll Perkins will have the chance to coach his brother, Austin Perkins, who went to Tucson High School.  Here’s more from Monday’s sportscast: 

Summer Heat b-ball tourney a success at Pueblo

The Summer Heat basketball tourney helped raise hundreds of dollars for Pueblo High School athletics.  A number of former college athletes (and U of A standouts) suited up this weekend.  The “Phoenix Elite” took home the title.   Here’s more from Sunday’s sportscast:

Former UA players hoop it up in tourney at Pueblo High

A number of former U of A basketball standouts are hoopin’ it up at a local tournament at Pueblo High School.  Sabino High grad and former U of A player Matt Korcheck is playing in the tourney. Also, former Wildcat guard Daniel Bejerano is suiting up for the “Soldierz” squad.

Sunnyside player earns All-American status

Sunnyside soccer star Manuel Quiroz recently made a national All-American team.  He helped lead the Sunnyside soccer squad to an undefeated season and 5-A state title. Here’s more from Friday’s sportscast:

UA hoops to play former Cats Coach in LA

Arizona basketball coach Sean Miller will have to develop a game plan against a former Wildcat assistant in the upcoming season at the Wooden Legacy tournament in the Los Angeles area.  UA will play Pepperdine, coached by former Arizona assistant Lorenzo Romar.  Here’s more: 

UA Baseball adds 3 players to signing class

The Arizona Wildcats have added to their 2019 signing class. A press release from Arizona Athletics said the team has added “outfielder Mac Bingham, right-handed pitcher Wesley Scott, and right-hander pitcher Davis Vainer to their already strong group of incoming players for next season.”
