Oro Valley Police confirm officer-involved shooting

ORO VALLEY (KVOA) - The Oro Valley Police Department have confirmed that a officer involved shooting took place today after a wellness check near N. Poinsettia Drive.

Officers confirmed that the man came to the door brandishing a firearm as officers were speaking with him. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

No officers were injured and there are no outstanding subjects. A firearm was recovered at the scene.

The officer involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave in accordance with department policy.

The incident is still under investigation.
