Man arrested in Amber Alert held on $1M bond

On Sunday, 18-year-old Miguel Rodriguez-Perez reportedly kidnapped 17-year-old Sandra Rios-Chavez from the parking lot of her place of work in Jerome County, Idaho. Police located the two after they spotted his vehicle abandoned in Surprise, Ariz Monday. 

Social media threat placed TUSD school on soft lockdown

Tucson Police Department responded to the middle school located at 5350 E. 16th St. near Craycroft Road and put the school on a brief lockdown. TPD said Tucson Unified School District Safety has been advised of the incident.

Woman found guilty on 21 charges in DUI crash that left a 21-year-old dead

Back on July 27, 2017, 32-year-old Erin Elizabeth Eman was taken into custody after she reportedly was involved in a crash at the intersection of Pantano and Stella roads. Tucson Police Department said 21-year-old Hannah Parkhurst was transported with life-threatening injuries in connection to the incident, and later succumbed to those injuries Aug. 9.

Pedestrian collision in central Tucson turns fatal

At around 8 p.m. May 7, 60-year-old Gordon Mackey was transported with life-threatening injuries after he was hit by a Mazda pickup truck near the intersection of North First Avenue and East Jacinto Street. According to TPD, Mackey was not in the crosswalk at the time of the incident.

Local philanthropist donates $350K to Pima County JTED

Ross Potoff and his nonprofit, Potoff Private Philanthropy has decided to donate $350,000 to help enhance programs and curriculums at JTED, which helps provide students a tuition-free, CTE option while in high school. JTED offers programs from automotive technologies to physical therapy to law and public safety.
