Fire Department: Police officers, driver rescued from canal

PHOENIX (AP) — Authorities say a car going into a Phoenix canal led to firefighters rescuing the driver and two police officers attempting to rescue the driver.

The Fire Department says none of the three people suffered any injuries and that circumstances of the Wednesday night incident were under investigation.

The vehicle was nearly submerged in the canal near North 12th Street and East Orangewood Avenue in north-central Phoenix.

The Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for additional information.
